Yo La Tengo to play Buskirk-Chumley Theater

The Union Board announced Yo La Tengo will play at 8 p.m. Oct. 10. in the Buskirk-Chumley Theater Tickets for the show went on sale Friday, Aug. 31, and can be purchased at the Sunrise Box Office, located at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave. Tickets are $20 for IU students and $25 for non-students.\nThe “Freewheeling Yo La Tengo Tour” is being touted as “a rare opportunity to see this ever-surprising band in a setting more intimate and interactive than any tour in their 23-year career,” according to the band’s Web site. They will be playing an “almost-acoustic set” that will feature songs from their entire catalogue, including their most recent album, “I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass,” which came out in September 2006.\nUnion Board Concerts Director Adam Soiref said in a press release that the “Union Board and the Buskirk-Chumley Theater are happy to be bringing Yo La Tengo as they are a very exciting and diverse act. This will be a truly enjoyable experience for anyone who attends.”
