What's the limit???

The talk of the town is to 'Play 13.' While that certainly is a fine goal to have, what is the ceiling for IU?

Live Above The Rock: Indiana 41, Akron 24 (FINAL)

-- Indiana 41, Akron 24 [FINAL] -- Tracy Porter intercepted a hail mary attempt at the two-yard line and returned the ball 49 yards to Akron's 49 to seal the victory for IU. And in less than four hours, the Hoosiers were able to hold off Akron, 41-24, and improve their record to 3-0. The IDS game ball goes to Kellen Lewis, who had Hoosier fans having Randle El flashbacks this afternoon.

Are the Hoosiers like the Colts?

After their practice on Thursday Coach Lynch had an interesting take on why his team is leading the nation in sacks through the first two weeks. He credited the offense's ability to jump ahead to large leads, which forced both Western Michigan and Indiana State to throw the ball the majority of the game.

Apologize

Hey guys, I'd like to briefly apologize for a use of word that I had put down about Teddy Schell. As a journalist, I regret using that word as it harshly conveyed what I had viewed.

Big Ten Preview - Illinois

In the coming weeks leading up to the season, we will give a preview of each of the Big Ten team. Let's go alphabetically, starting with Illinois. Coach In his first four years at the helm, no coach has more victories than Bruce Weber's 112 wins (Coach K and Billy Donovan are tied). In Weber's first year, Illinois went 37-2 en route to a second place finish in the NCAA tournament.

Backing up Kellen

Having been to practice quite a few times this year, I think it's safe to talk about the depth of the IU quarterback chart.

Some unusual statistics

I got a little bored today and decided to check where the IU football team ranked statistically in the NCAA and the Big Ten through its first two games.

Live from (Where's) Waldo Stadium

After an eventful ride down that included a monsoon, a gas station that looked like it came from the set of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a surly Kalamazoo Sheriff - We have arrived at Waldo Satdium. Some quick notes with an hour before game time: * This is the first time ever that a Big Ten team will play at Western Michigan.

A few thoughts on this weekend

So, when we went to write the IU will win if, IU will lose if article for Friday's paper, I really wanted to put Western Michigan wide receiver Jamarko Simmons as the 'player to watch.' Unfortunately, we couldn't do that because we had to focus on an IU athlete.

Live blog for Saturday's Western Michigan game

In case you can't make the trip to Kalamazoo this weekend, like myself, Under The Rock will feature a live blog Saturday night with frequent game updates. It won't be a play-by-play breakdown, but I'll provide constant score updates, analysis and anything else I deem relatively relevant. The Hoosiers game against Western Michigan begins at 8 p.m.

Taking the Crimson out of Indy

We made some earlier mentions of the 2007-2008 men's basketball schedule, but I wanted to follow up on it. A lot of IU fans are stoked to play the rival Kentucky Wildcats in Assembly Hall this year -- payback for last year when the Hoosiers had to play in Rupp Arena.

MAC love and Gassers....

Apparently the Hoosiers 48 point victory wasn't enough to spare them from doing wind sprints in full pads on Tuesday.
