“The Forbidden Kingdom,” a film built around the simple idea that people want to see Jackie Chan fight Jet-Li, is a great homage to old-school martial arts movies, but not much else. This movie does a fantastic job of knowing exactly what its audience expects and delivers on its promises of awesome fight scenes and a shallow propped-up story.

This man often dealt with convicted murderers mere hours before they themselves were to die. On Dec. 6, 1989, Pickett explained every step of the execution process – including the number of steps it took to get to the execution chamber – to yet another prisoner.
