Hoosier track and field teams start indoor season

The Hoosiers’ track and field team opened the indoor season by playing host to their first of five home indoor competitions Friday and Saturday in the Hoosier Open at Gladstein Fieldhouse in a non–scoring event.

Wrestling gets No. 9 class

In addition to its victory against Manhattan this weekend, the IU wrestling team has been making a splash on the recruiting trail as this year’s signing class was ranked No. 9 by Wrestling Insider News magazine.

Booth signs financial aid agreement with IU

Booth signed a financial-aid agreement Sunday. The Pike High School prospect is not technically signed onto the team, but his roster spot will be reserved should he choose to enroll in January.

Notre Dame formidable in name only

I was deceived. The “legal” stream I was watching online wasn’t clear enough. Notre Dame was in fact wearing its home whites, and getting run up and down the court.After a home loss to a mid-major program, I was not impressed with the Irish.

Hoosiers Seek Best Start in 42 Years

IU Coach Curt Miller called Sunday’s game against IU-Purdue University Indianapolis a potential statement game for his young IU women’s basketball squad. The Hoosiers (10-0) will travel to Indianapolis for a 2 p.m. matchup against IUPUI (7-3) with the opportunity to win their 11th consecutive game to start the season. Doing so would equal IU’s win total from all of last season.

Track and field team to host first indoor meet

The IU track and field team will start the indoor season this weekend when it plays host to its first indoor track meet on Friday. The competition will be a two-day event and it will end on Saturday with the men’s and women’s pentathlon.

IU defeats Milwaukee, moves to 10-0

In the midst of a 17-5 Milwaukee run in the middle of the second half, which saw IU held without a field goal for almost seven minutes, Larryn Brooks stopped the bleeding.

Freshman pair spark Hoosiers

The IU women’s basketball team’s most prolific players were at it again in Assembly Hall. Freshmen guards Taylor Agler and Larryn Brooks commanded offense and defense in IU’s home 87-68 victory over Milwaukee.

Haverly completes historic IU career

Senior outside hitter Jordan Haverly walked off the volleyball court from her final IU game on Nov. 29, a crimson No. 2 on her front and back and a brace on her left knee. As she walked back to the locker room, feelings of disbelief and sadness swept over her as the shock of her career ending started to hit her. She didn’t want to leave the sense of family shared with team members.
