Hoosiers selected to men's soccer NCAA Tournament

Indiana grabbed the No. 16 seed for the tournament, awarding them a first-round bye into the tournament of 48. Unseeded Liberty and Old Dominion will face off Thursday to determine the Hoosiers’ second-round foe.

Men’s tennis follows mantra: ‘This is our year’

Ginther qualifies for Championships

Cross country makes NCAA championships

The men clinched their tournament berth during the weekend with an automatic qualification by finishing second in the 10K NCAA Great Lakes Regional with 70 points. The men finished 20 points behind Wisconsin.

IU defeats Chattanooga 78-53

The Hoosiers improved to 2-0 for the regular season with a 78-53 win at Assembly Hall. Sophomore guard Victor Oladipo led IU with 21 points.

Behind an offensive outburst of 65 percent shooting and four players in double figures, the IU men’s basketball team won its 14th straight season opener Friday night at Assembly Hall with a 96-66 win against Stony Brook.

Branch argues for athlete pay, speaks to journalism class

Award-winning civil rights historian Taylor Branch wants IU to pay student athletes. Branch recently wrote the cover story for the October issue of The Atlantic magazine, titled “The Shame of College Sports”, and has expanded the story into an eBook called “The Cartel,” available from Byliner.com.

Saturday brings senior night for team
