Hoosiers enter uphill stretch with little rest

After falling to No. 13 Ohio State on Wednesday, IU will play at No. 11 Wisconsin on Saturday and No. 10 Michigan State at home Tuesday.  Outside of the Big East Conference’s Providence Friars — currently in the middle of a four-game stretch consisting of No. 7 Georgetown, No. 4 Villanova, No. 5 West Virginia and No. 2 Syracuse — no other team in the country is facing a tougher span of games than the Hoosiers. But while Providence is facing the Murderers’ Row of the Big East during a 15-day period, IU’s difficult three-game stretch is taking place in a week’s time.

Interactive workshop focuses on social discourse

The Commission on Multicultural Understanding will sponsor a workshop examining civil dialogue on campus called “What Did You Say?!” The event will occur  from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday in State Room East in the Indiana Memorial Union.

IU seniors to grapple at University Gym mats for final time Friday

Friday night will be the last time the Hoosier faithful will see Angel Escobedo get the Hoosiers off to an early lead at 125 pounds, the last time they will see Matt Coughlin compete in a grind-it-out match at 149 pounds, the last time fans can get on their feet for a Trevor Perry pin at 175 pounds, and the last time they will get a chance to witness Nate Everhart secure a Hoosier victory at heavyweight.

Case competition asks ‘How would you change IU?’

A case competition will give students a chance to implement their ideas to improve campus. Winners will receive a $2,500 prize and work with IUSA to implement their plan. The competition will be judged by a board of faculty and students Feb. 19.

‘Vagina Monologues’ to raise funds for women’s shelter

Started just 12 years ago with a performance of “The Vagina Monologues” on a New York stage, V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls, is now celebrated all over the world. This Friday, IU will carry on the campaign to end violence with its own production of “The Vagina Monologues.”
