A reported shooting occurred Sunday morning near Kirkwood Avenue and Grant Street, according to an IU Notify Alert.
The first alert was sent at 1:18 a.m. notifying recipients of a “dangerous situation” happening near Kirkwood Avenue and Grant Street. At 1:39 a.m., a second alert identified the situation as a reported shooting and stated police were on the scene. The alert also stated a suspect in a blue or gray sedan fled north on Grant Street.
An alert sent at 2:02 a.m. encouraged people to continue avoiding the area. At 2:38 a.m., a final alert said the threat was no longer imminent but to still avoid the area.
