Duke Energy to reduce coal use

A settlement between Indiana environmental agencies and Duke Energy will force Duke’s Wabash River power plant in Vigo County to stop burning coal and instead pursue new renewable energy sources.

Firefighters start raising money for winter

 Bloomington Local 586 Union of Professional Firefighters organized its fourth annual cookout fundraiser. Proceeds of the fundraiser go toward obtaining Target vouchers for families with children.

County council halts food, beverage tax

The Bloomington City Council scrapped  the proposal because of a division in the community and on the Monroe County Council to responsibly go forward with the tax.
