Morley's Mammogram

"It's funny to think that the machine known as a godsend to women for the early detection of breast cancer was designed by a man. But despite my physical masculinity, it wasn't any more comfortable for me either.

Medical condition can devastate males

·

Justin's* idea of fun never involved going swimming with anyone else. Summer days were never spent shirtless in the sun. Instead, he wore double layers of clothing as camouflage for the medical condition haunting him. He's lived with the condition since puberty: gynecomastia, or the abnormal development of breasts in men.

Jordan River Forum

·

Time for a new mentality toward IU football The firing of Gerry DiNardo doesn't shock or disappoint me at all. What I am shocked, disappointed and downright appalled at is the disgusting sense of apathy and defeatism exhibited towards our football program as manifested by the three opinion pieces reacting to the Athletic Department's decision. If there is a better example of Monday morning quarterbacking from the bench, I've never seen it.

Want to see a nifty trick? I am going to write a word, and you, the reader, will sigh and begin speed-reading through the rest of this column: Sudan. For those of you who don't like current events -- who the hell cares -- it doesn't concern you -- read on about another IU basketball defeat or a campus lecture on a noted ethnomusicologist who will speak Thursday.

It never ends

·

I started this semester with the overwhelming decision to avoid graduate school like the plague and dive head-first into the pool of adulthood. It was a scary decision, but somehow I thought my final semesters of college would prepare me for the big, bad world. Boy was I wrong.

Community finds happiness in charitable organizations

·

Someone, somewhere once said, "Money can't buy happiness." Well, if happiness equates to Range Rovers or iPods, then he or she was completely wrong. But what if happiness actually had a different meaning? If happiness meant helping others, inspiring, uniting and learning, then this whole community would be in luck.

Ireland brings thoughts of home

Wow. I cannot believe this semester has flown by so quickly. Hopefully you're on the other end of this thinking the same thing. It really is incredible to imagine that only four short months ago I was awaiting and anticipating what Ireland would be like.
