Crimson misrepresents\nSome of us attending IU are minorities, and yes, a select few of us are even female. Crimson, the current administration of the IU Student Association, selected a committee of 14 students to review the election code for next year. Considering the complete chaos that ensued during last year's election (which, P.S., resulted in Crimson being appointed, not elected into office) this seemed like a step in the right direction. Perhaps there actually was a reason we have yet to see signs of anything they promised us during their campaign. They must have been fixing the glitches recognized by the IU Supreme Court. \nAu contraire, my friends! Of those 14 students who reviewed the election code, every single one of them was a white male. And as for the election codes -- not a single change. Ironic, isn't it, that this homogenous group of 14 individuals found nothing wrong with the system that by default put them into power? What really stuns me is the disrespect they have for both the student body and the University as a whole. \nOf the 38,000 students who attend IU, at a University that prides itself on diversity and acceptance, I find it difficult to believe that 14 white male students can accurately represent the vast ethnic make-up of IU's campus. And not a single qualified female to fill the position? It's time Crimson stopped parading around as a gentleman's club and started doing their job. Do they honestly believe that they are accurately representing the IU community? \nBetween empty campaign promises and complete disregard for all students, I have just one question: at the end of the day, what exactly have you done for IU? \nRepresent IU and its students accurately. After all gentlemen, integrity is the true mark of good leadership.\nLindsay Kerrigan\nSophomore
