90 years of Herman B Wells

Before Herman B Wells took charge of IU, the University was just a small Midwestern college with 11,000 students. By the time he passed away in 2000, it had become a world-renowned institution with more than 90,000 students on eight campuses.


IU Cinema Opening

New IU Cinema offers 82,000 films

Since 2002, the “Little Theatre,” once abuzz with student performances, sat empty. But after a 15-month restoration project, which included hiring a new director, the IU Cinema is now home to 82,000 movie reels the University has in its archives.

7,000 rally at Statehouse

Union leaders planned another rally at the Indianapolis Statehouse on Thursday, hoping to have a staggering number of protestors to draw legislators’ attention. They were not disappointed.

Last Thursday, Indiana House Republicans made a motion to fine each member of the Indiana House Democrats who remains in exile in Urbana, Ill. The fine is set at $250 a day, but the House Democrats will not be fined for their absences prior to Monday.

Coach Legette-Jack’s first recruiting class says goodbye to Hoosier basketball

Seniors Jori Davis, Andrea McGuirt and Whitney Lindsay represented half of Coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s first recruiting class and were the only ones from that inaugural year to stay at IU for all four years. During their junior year, they were joined by Hope Elam. Now all four seniors prepare to leave the IU basketball program.

Hoosiers steal bases, win at Indiana State

TERRE HAUTE — The IU baseball team’s offense put it together Wednesday. The Hoosiers followed up 10 hits with solid base running — including a steal home in a two-run sixth inning — to earn a 6-4 victory against Indiana State at Bob Warn Field.
