IU, Notre Dame play to 0-0 draw

The No. 17 IU men’s soccer team (0-0-1) played to a 0-0 tie against in-state rival No. 12 Notre Dame (0-0-1). The game was the first away-from-home season opener for the Hoosiers since 2006.

Sublime tribute pleases listeners

It was Friday night at Bluebird Nightclub. Waves of sound pounded through the door of the backstage room. There, the musicians of Sublime tribute act Secondhand Smoke waited in church pew seating while local band The Broderick rocked away.

Indiana bands to tour the Midwest

Mike Adams can’t quite say what it is that gives husband&wife its Midwestern feel, but he’s often told the band is “definitely from the Midwest.” He and other members of husband&wife will spread the Midwestern mood as they kick off their tour with the Fort Wayne-based instrumental band Metavari at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop. Admission for the show, which will also feature Muncie-based band State Park, is $5.

Retired greyhounds bring joy to Wonderlab

Retired racing greyhound Tanner went from training for races on the dirt track at Dairyland Greyhound Track in Wisconsin to taking leisurely laps around the bed and down the stairs at the apartment of Erik and Christine Shaver.

Annual food drive meets 15,000-pound goal

After four years of trying, the Monroe County United Ministries has finally met its goal to collect 15,000 pounds of food and hygiene products during its weekend-long Each One, Feed One Community Food Drive.

Film series brings classics to IU Cinema
