IU fails to handle adversity again

In a 42-24 loss at Iowa, the Hoosiers, for the second consecutive week, saw a comfortable lead disappear and a previously dominated game lost. Again, the game featured an unstoppable IU team in the first half and a group of patsies in the second.

Dylan returns to Bloomington

Dylan will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at the IU Auditorium. The show will be part of what his fans have called the “Never Ending Tour,” which began in 1988. He has played more than 100 shows every year since 1994.

INDIANAPOLIS – President Barack Obama’s federal stimulus package has steered about $848 million to Indiana so far and created or retained nearly 18,900 jobs, the White House said Friday.

World record for largest Halloween party is broken

The previous world record for largest Halloween party held 362 in attendance with compliance to the Guinness World Records. Wesley Barnes surpassed this, and he plans to send all information to the main headquarters in London as soon as possible.

Counting calories

Congress could require "calorie counts" at all food establishments that are “part of a chain with 20 or more locations.” This provision can be found in Section 2572 of the House Health Care Bill and could dramatically help reduce the rate of obesity as well as diabetes in the country by keeping people informed about what they are eating.

As students, we should be outraged at the decision of Butler University to sue one of it's own students for writing a critical blog. While it is repetitive to reiterate the merits and even the necessity of free speech, especially in a supposedly open and intellectually fostering environment such as a college campus, students should be supported by their university in all forms of “inquiry” and “interactive dialogue” – even the kind that is critical of the university administration.

Studies claim that 59 to 66 percent of college students have been in a couple where one half is unfaithful.  And 36 percent of never-married undergrads claim to have been victims of abuse – physical, verbal, emotional or otherwise – while dating. Though many are wise and leave their toxic romances as soon as possible, many more don’t.

Pedestrian hit at Dunn and Bypass
