Indianapolis looks to Jacksonville

After a three-day break in the practice schedule, the Indianapolis Colts began preparing Monday for their AFC South showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts (9-2) have a one-game lead in the division. A win on Sunday would give Tony Dungy’s team a sweep in the season series and a cushion in its hunt for a fifth straight AFC South title. Jacksonville would move into a tie for the division lead with a win.

Campus bigotry continues despite efforts

Despite recent University efforts to prevent racially and religiously charged incidents on campus, the IU Office of Student Ethics and Anti-Harassment Programs received the same amount of complaints in the 2006-07 school year as in previous years, and officials claim many incidents go unreported.

New hate crime bill likely to reignite debate

IU sophomore Paul Gardner does not know who etched the word “fag” into his Wright Quad dorm room door last fall. Even if he did, there’s no legal action Gardner could take to prosecute the offender for a hate crime due to Indiana’s current lack of hate crime legislation.

Lynch to stay on as head football coach

Student users frustrated by new Word 2007

Microsoft’s revamped Word program is leaving some students griping about the new bells and whistles. Some users complain that Word 2007, which is installed in Harvard University’s computer labs, has created incompatibility problems and is difficult to navigate.

Lynch a ‘good’ hire

When Bill Lynch is at a loss for words, he has a repetitive, almost lovable defense mechanism to deflect attention. A particularly tough defeat leads to Lynch praising a “good football team.” An impressive performance by an opponent would lead to the anointment of a “good football player.”
