Last week, a group of more than 100 university presidents signed a letter to NCAA President Myles Brand – a former IU president – accusing the NCAA of violating its own rules concerning alcohol advertising during broadcasts of games. The letter called the ads “embarrassingly prominent” and counted 200 and 240 seconds of beer advertising in the two national semifinal games, with 270 seconds in the national championship game.

Man takes three-story fall at ATO

Emergency response vehicles were dispatched to Alpha Tau Omega, 720 E. 3rd St., around 3:55 p.m. Friday after a man was reported to have fallen three stories, said Captain Jerry Minger of IUPD.

Security blamed for Mace incident

Contracted security officers used Mace on attendees at a DMX concert Wednesday at Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, according to an IU Police Department investigation. The contracted security company was not sanctioned by IUPD or the University, said IUPD Capt. Jerry Minger.

Having a 101-degree fever and competing in the heat of the south is not something easy to do. Sophomore high jumper Jared Nuxoll faced these conditions two weeks ago at the Alabama Relays and was disappointed with his sixth place finish.
