Grunwald Gallery exhibits feature international art

The Grunwald Gallery of Art began showing two international exhibits on Aug. 30. A German exhibit showcases the work of a variety of German painters. Two IU professors collaborated on another show featuring images from Japan's earthquake.

Surrounded by various canvases in The Venue on Grant Street, Luis Cordova, a master’s student at IU, strummed his guitar for a small audience Tuesday night.

Garlic Festival presents local talent, food

Among the smorgasbord of community arts around town this Labor Day weekend, the festivities continued as live music, artistic talent, and local garlic-infused cuisine permeated Third Street Park for the Bloomington Community Art Fair and Garlic Fest.


Fourth Street Festival attracts art variety

At the Fourth Street Festival of the Arts and Crafts ran vendors displayed everything from wooden furniture to handmade kaleidoscopes.

Indiana author Stepanich publishes autobiography

Mary Ellen Stepanich worked as a professor in behavior science for years before making the transition into the literary world.  What began as an assignment to write 10 pages per week for a writers critique group resulted in Stepanich’s first published book.

Rewind offers home for aspiring artists

Aaron Chandler, the owner of Rewind, a Bloomington recording studio and music school, is a former IU student who always knew he wanted to be a musician. Today, he uses Rewind to help other aspiring artists hone their skills.
