Blair: We must stop extremist attacks

LONDON -- Prime Minister Tony Blair said Wednesday he was considering calling an international conference on how to eliminate Islamic extremism following the London suicide bombings, while Britain's Muslim leaders demanded a judicial inquiry into what motivated the four "homegrown" suicide bombers.

IU professors weigh in on Court nominee

While political partisans across the nation weigh in on President George W. Bush's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, two IU law professors have a more personal view of John Roberts. Professor Joseph Hoffmann describes Roberts as "a good legal mind and a good person." Professor Craig Bradley has similar opinions.

Kirkwood bank robbery investigated

Wednesday, July 20,2005 10:44 p.m.

Investigations are continuing in Monday afternoon's bank robbery on Kirkwood, though police have not arrested any suspects. Old National Bank on Kirkwood was robbed by an apparently unarmed white male, described to be in his mid 30s to early 40s with dark hair, a dark hat, and a dark jacket, approached a female teller and handed her a note, demanding money. At 2:31 p.m., a silent alarm alerted the Bloomington Police Department.

Noonan named to MLS All-Star team

Former IU soccer standout and All-American Pat Noonan was selected as a MLS All-Star for the second consecutive season Thursday. Noonan, who plays for the New England Revolution, made the team as reserve forward, as he did in 2004.
