When Detective Troy Thomas began investigating Bedford resident Kevin Moore on charges of leaving the scene of a hit-and-run, little did he know Senior State Trooper Charles Sorrell had been searching for Moore the night before on separate charges. \nInvestigations continue in the hit-and-run case involving Moore, 35, a Bedford resident charged with battery and leaving the scene of car accident which killed Bloomington resident Robin Pfister, 44, just before 1 p.m. Friday.\nAccording to Thomas, Pfister was attending a garage sale in the 8300 block of Old State Road 37. She walked to her car to get money to pay for some items. Police say garage sale patrons and others in the area witnessed Moore's Jeep strike Pfister as she crossed the street. \nSome of the details about the hit-and-run remain unclear. Too much time elapsed following the accident to determine if Moore was intoxicated at the time he hit Pfister. But it is clear he fled the scene, police say. Speeding from the accident, Moore allegedly flipped his vehicle off the road about a mile from the scene of the first accident. He abandoned the wreckage and continued on foot, running about two miles until he reached Ketchum Road, where he was picked up by "an acquaintance" he'd called on his cell phone, Thomas said. \nLater that day, Moore was apprehended in Bedford by Sorrells and the Indiana State Police. They had been investigating Moore since the night before, when his wife called the police claiming he assaulted her during a dispute. One of the witnesses to the fight helped remove his wife from the area, Sorrell said. \nMoore and his wife were camping at a site off of Springville-Harrodsburg Road, near an annual motorcyclist gathering.\nThomas said the state police had been searching for Moore all night.\n"State police were looking for him at the boogie the night before," Thomas said. "At the time we were working the accident we didn't even know they were connected."\nMoore was taken into the Lawrence County Jail on Friday. According to the jail, Moore was charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, confinement, leaving the scene of an accident and theft.
