Investigations are continuing in Monday afternoon's bank robbery on Kirkwood, though police have not arrested any suspects. Old National Bank on Kirkwood was robbed by an apparently unarmed white male, described to be in his mid 30s to early 40s with dark hair, a dark hat, and a dark jacket, approached a female teller and handed her a note, demanding money. At 2:31 p.m., a silent alarm alerted the Bloomington Police Department. \nAfter receiving the money, he walked out the front door and proceeded west on Kirkwood, according to police reports. \nPolice are currently searching for suspects and the bank surveillance video is being analyzed. \nAccording to BPD Sergeant David Drake, the teller did not recall seeing a weapon with the robber. \nThe robber did not leave the note at the scene. Details of the note, as recalled by the teller, could be fully provided. Drake said, however, that there was no mention of a weapon in the note.\nThree tellers might have witnessed the robbery according to the police report. It is still uncertain how busy the bank was at the time of the robbery. \nDrake said witnesses are often scarce in discrete bank robberies like this one. \n"What happens a lot of times is that until the person's gone most of the people in the bank don't even realize there was a robbery." Drake said. \nThis is the second Bloomington bank robbery in recent days. Last Wednesday, Key Bank on College Mall Road was robbed by a man wearing a blue face mask and gloves. He held a sawed off shotgun and announced to those in the bank that he was robbing it. \n"There isn't much in the way of similarities," Drake said. "There doesn't seem to be any connection." \nAnyone with information is asked to contact Det. Kevin Hill at 339-4477.
