NCAA: Sampson misled IU about recruiting calls

Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson and his staff violated telephone recruiting restrictions imposed because of his previous violations at Oklahoma, then lied about it to the school and NCAA investigators, according to an NCAA report released Wednesday. Ratliff parts with Sampson, team

The IU men’s basketball team has only eight games remaining in its regular season schedule. Senior A.J. Ratliff will not play in any of them. The IU Athletics Department announced Tuesday that the guard has left the team.

Milestone Men

Each season a select few NCAA coaches reach career win totals that have a number with two zeros tacked on the end. For IU this winter, two coaches have slipped under the radar to achieve huge milestones in their respective sports. In doing so, women’s tennis coach Lin Loring and wrestling coach Duane Goldman have brought great honor for Hoosier athletics.

Greenspan says Sampson will coach team until further notice

After the University received a list of five major violations committed by IU men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson and his staff, IU fans took to message boards and blogs, almost unanimously calling for Sampson’s job. Some fans began discussing potential replacements before any action is taken by the NCAA or the University against Sampson.

A new institute at IU will allow artists and scholars to collaborate on digital arts and humanities projects, such as digital music libraries and virtual reality programs. Work in the new Institute for the Digital Arts and Humanities will extend to dance, music and even literature.
