Those Darn Accordians! give great live show

It is with reservation that a music critic uses the word "fun." Associated with the commercial vapidity of dance club pop and teenie bopper R&B, the term carries a certain shame. But San Fransisco-based pop-polka act Those Darn Accordions! certainly fits the bill.

IU 45, Iowa 33: Hoosiers beat up on Iowa

LOUISVILLE -- IU stormed down Interstate 65 Sunday determined to get its first win of the season against Division II Bellarmine University. It turned out the only difficult thing about the day was choosing whether to watch "Goonies" or "The Princess Bride" on the way home. "Goonies" won with a 10-8 vote.

Phi Mu celebrates 80 years at IU

Phi Mu sorority celebrated its 80th anniversary of the Delta Alpha chapter of IU at the chapter's house at 1442 N. Jordan Ave. Saturday afternoon. The festivities included an open house for students, faculty and members and a special initiation ceremony.

Volleyball team falls to Iowa, No. 6 Minnesota

The volleyball team dropped two Big Ten games this weekend in its conference home openers. The Hoosiers are 10-4 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten. IU fell to Iowa (7-5, 3-1) in five games Friday (5-15, 15-12, 15-9, 7-15, 6-15) and then dropped three consecutive games to No. 6 Minnesota Saturday (15-9,15-12, 15-8).

School of Optometry opens permanent clinic in Mexico
