Daniels recalls 2-year RV campaign journey across counties of Indiana

Sixteen months of visiting Hoosiers around the state ended Monday for Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitch Daniels. The journey began July 7, 2003, in the parking lot of Butler University's Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis with a promise by Daniels to visit all 92 counties in the state in 100 days. He did it in the first 91 days.

"These guys are ready, and it will be exciting to see what they can do."

Golden opportunity for Hoosiers

The Hoosiers finally could catch a break this season. After two tough road trips and two tough losses, the team returns to Bloomington to face Minnesota during Homecoming weekend. Since IU's upset over then-No. 24 Oregon, the team has been on a steady decline despite increasingly good play.

CHICAGO -- Moises Alou might not be roaming left field at Wrigley Field anymore. The Chicago Cubs declined an $11.5 million mutual option on the outfielder Thursday and will pay him a $2.5 million buyout. The Cubs also declined a $2.5 million option on second baseman Mark Grudzielanek, paying him a $250,000 buyout instead.

Haunted Homecoming?

'The Full Monty:' They danced. They sang. They stripped.

Wednesday night's production of the Broadway musical "The Full Monty" left the enthusiastic audience members with grins on their faces and tunes in their heads. The show was a hit, and it wasn't just because of the (ahem) minimal costumes of the six main male characters in the last scene of the show.

Exhibit showcases local artists, artwork
