Campus buses will cut service for Summer Session II

Last week, the IU Campus Bus Service announced its plan to thin bus schedules along the A route by 50 percent as a result of rising fuel prices and a decrease in passengers during the second summer session.

The quartet’s Sunday night performance at the Bluebird Nightclub was the Quartet’s first ever in Bloomington. Washburn praised the audience as “the best we’ve ever played for” and joked that any ethnomusicologists in the crowd should meet the band afterwards.

Indiana Methodist ministers come out against gambling at conference on campus

Indiana clergy members took a stand against gambling Friday. Literally. Inside the IU Auditorium, about 1,200 United Methodist ministers and lay leaders from southern Indiana rose from their seats in a standing vote to display their overwhelming approval of a resolution to lobby against the expansion of gambling in the state.

Assault on 11-year-old girl reported

A Bloomington man was arrested June 4 on charges of burglary and sexual battery. Brandon I. McCarey, 18, was arrested for reportedly entering a residence on South Rockport Road without permission. While inside the residence, McCarey allegedly forced an 11-year-old girl outside where she said he then groped and kissed her.
