Members of local organizations Oasis Spasis, Sprouts, Bloomington Urban Gardening Society (B.U.G.S.) and the IU Forest Protection Alliance organized a panel discussion and concert Saturday in Dunn Meadow. Killing the youth vote

Say goodbye to early voting this fall. Actually, don’t count on it in 2012 either. The Republicans’ top election priority: eliminating voting opportunities. Last week, the Monroe County Election Board (primarily board member Judith Smith-Ille) rejected the opportunity for Bloomington residents, including students, to vote in satellite polling sites for the upcoming general election.

FSA celebrates Filipino culture in Dunn Meadow

The IU Filipino Student Association promoted Filipino culture Sunday in Dunn Meadow through a fundrasier with food, music and more. The festival included a moon bounce, dunk tank, corn hole and a “fish pong” table.

Pot eradication efforts in full swing

Operation Hoosier Thunder’s commitment to crack down on illegal marijuana growers in Southern Indiana  went into effect last month and involved the convergence of Indiana State Police, the Indiana National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the DEA, U.S. Forest Service, Civil Air Patrol, Indiana DNR and local law enforcement agencies.
