Field hockey to play Michigan State, Louisville this weekend

IU faces a tough set of games this weekend. They play their second conference game of the season against Michigan State at 3 p.m. Friday at the IU Field Hockey Complex and travel to Louisville, Ky., Sunday for a rematch against the Cardinals.

Psych department to celebrate 125th anniversary

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences will celebrate its 125th year anniversary Oct. 11. The celebration will include lectures, career luncheons and the unveiling of a 10,000-pound  limestone sculpture of a human brain near the entrance to the Psychology Building.

Talent show to raise funds for breast cancer research

Zeta Tau Alpha’s annual all-male talent show, Big Man on Campus, intends to raise funds once again this year for breast cancer research and awareness. This event is considered the largest Greek-led philanthropic effort in the country and will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 in the IU Auditorium.

A transgender IU student was accused of cheating because the name on his ID, his legal name, didn't match his preferred name, which reflects his identity.

IU charity builds playgrounds

IU professor Jon Racek is the founder and executive director of Play360, a non-profit that trains organizations to build playgrounds and other learning resources in developing countries.

Hoosiers against banning gay marriage

A new poll conducted by Freedom Indiana and Bellwhether Research and Consulting shows that 64 percent of Hoosiers are against amending the Indiana State Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
