I’ve always been a consistent snacker but never put an emphasis on eating proper meals. Last season, Indiana softball faced Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament championship game. Despite the game slipping from Indiana’s grasp — a 1-0 lead entering the bottom of the seventh vanished when Northwestern scored two runs to snatch the championship — the Hoosiers have not let that loss define them. Instead, it has fueled their determination and set the stage for a comeback this season.
In a partnership with the National Association of Letter Carriers and the US Postal Service, Hoosier Hills Food Bank will be participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the bank’s largest drive of the year. The food drive will take place nearly four weeks after a pick-up truck crashed into HHFB’s second warehouse, leaving 400 pounds of food to be disposed of.
Southern Monroe County is under a tornado warning until 11:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service. IU Alert advised anyone in the area to seek shelter immediately. The warning also includes northeastern Knox county and northwestern Davies county.

Jody Madeira will be the Democratic nominee for the open District 3 seat on the Monroe County Board of Commissioners. She received 43.47% of the vote.
Julie Thomas was selected as the Democratic nominee for the District 2 seat on the Monroe County Board of Commissioners Tuesday. No Republicans filed declarations of candidacy for the open seat.
