Primer: IU-Ferris State exhibition

The IU men's basketball team will round out its exhibition schedule at 7 p.m. Monday night when the Hoosiers battle with the Ferris State Bulldogs at Assembly Hall.

IU defeats Franklin College, 89-37

Sophomore Christian Watford scored with 25 points in a team-high 24 minutes played as the IU men's basketball team opened it's exhibition schedule with an 89-37 win over Franklin College on Wednesday night at Assembly Hall. "He's really working to improve," Crean said of Watford.

IU-Franklin exhibition: 1st half

Sophomore forward Christian Watford has 17 points as the IU men's basketball team leads Franklin College 46-24 after one half at Assembly Hall. After Watford, the scoring is more evenly distributed, with sophomore guard Jordan Hulls and sophomore forward Derek Elston tied for the second-most points with five. IU has forced 14 turnovers while having just 8 of their own.

NCAA reviewing status of Guy-Marc Michel

IU Athletics released a statement from Tom Crean saying the NCAA is reviewing the status of junior college transfer center Guy-Marc Michel prior to tonight's game with Franklin College. Michel participated in club basketball in France, where he finished high school and enrolled in some college courses.

Crean meets with media - News/Notes

Some of the media met with IU coach Tom Crean this afternoon in to talk about Wednesday night's exhibition opener against Franklin (Ind.) College. Here are a few of points that stood out: INJURY UPDATE - Junior guard Verdell Jones will not play in the exhibition due to a sprained ankle. - Senior guard Jeremiah Rivers practiced today and will be in the game Wednesday.

Women's basketball at half

At half time of the women's basketball exhibition opener with Alaska-Anchorage the Hoosiers trail 27-28. The Hoosiers looking are working through some struggles against the Division II team in the first half. Towards the end of the half the Hoosiers began taking advantage of the foul situation by going to the paint. The half was plagued by inconsistencies for both teams.

IU football: Where we stand now

For those of you who called me out at the beginning of the season after I guaranteed an IU bowl game, your time to gloat is getting close. It's not here yet, however. My preseason predictions included wins over Towson, Western Kentucky, Akron, Arkansas State, Illinois and Northwestern.

Hoosier spotlight: Maurice Creek

Overview: Creek is 6-5, 200-pound sophomore guard from Oxon Hill, Md. He led the Hoosiers in scoring last year with 16.4 points per game before his season ended with a knee injury against Bryant.
