Ready for Tempe?
Hey guys, I know that we're the ones supposed to be doing the writing, but former sports editor Zach Osterman sent me the link to this article, written by the Arizona Republic.

In honor of Eric Gordon turning 19 today, I found this video on YouTube of Gordon at Assembly Hall the night he verballed to IU.
Today may be Christmas Eve, but I'm more excited about the eve of another day of celebration - that is, New Year's Eve when IU will play in their bowl game. Allow me to direct you faithful reader to Tall Glass of Milk where I will be documenting the travels of ten of the Hoosier's most loyal followers (myself included) on their road trip to Tempe. Currently, I am compiling a list of possible pit stops and tourist traps on the 1800-mile trek.
Even though IU has not been considered a traditional football powerhouse, the program has still experienced its fair share of excitement over the years.
We had a reader comment with the question of where we see the Hoosiers finish in the Big Ten this year.
Well, Felisha Legette-Jack actually picked up a microphone after the game and thanked the crowd for supporting her team, calling West Virginia "a great team," and proclaiming that IU is working "to get where they are." Believe me, if you knew coach Jack, those words and the class of that move would not come as a surprise.
Yes, that's right. Though the layoff has been too long, I am making my triumphant return to the blog with a Beatles reference, something my boy Lee Hurwitz over and Under the Rock would approve of.
Ellis did not start for the first time this season because he was late to the stadium this morning according to IU coach Kelvin Sampson.
IU wins 73-46 in an overall sloppy game. DJ White led the Hoosiers with 29 points. Check idsnews.com for further coverage of today's victory over Coppin State. IU is really tearing up the zone now.
One of the downfalls of sleeping in until 10:30 is that I missed out on reading the early morning news.
I've been reading a lot on message boards about Coppin State's killer two game schedule, playing tonight at 8:30 in Milwaukee against Marquette and then at noon tomorrow against IU. To clear things up, IU had Coppin State on its schedule first according to Coach Kelvin Sampson.
Coach Kelvin Sampson had his weekly meeting with the media. Later, juniors DeAndre Thomas and Jamarcus Ellis commented about the season.
Legendary ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale will take a leave of absence from games until February. In a letter to fans, Vitale said he has "lesions on my left vocal cord and that they should be surgically removed". Vitale expressed his love for his colleagues, college basketball and the fans.
Driving home from Bloomington I started thinking about IU football and had the following thoughts: * By defeating Indiana State, Ball State and Purdue, coupled with the awful year Notre Dame had, Indiana has to be crowned the college state champion this year, right?
There have been many comments on UTR that the Big Ten has been unjustly ripped into by the national media.
With finals wrapping up for the IDS crew tomorrow, we'll be heading home just like everyone else. However, since I live in Zionsville, I will be covering every game and most of the press conference during winter break.
My finals are over. My Kyle Orton-like neckbeard is shaved. I am officially ready to get back into the full swing of things with Hoosier football. And what a wild couple of days it has been for the IU football program. One day after IU coach Bill Lynch landed his most coveted recruit, Darius Willis Lynch, along with Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy got to ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell in Times Square.
Bill Lynch has landed one of his biggest prizes. Darius Willis, a senior running back from Franklin Central (H.S.) in Indianapolis, gave an oral commitment to the Hoosiers today by way of a press conference in Indianapolis.
From IUHoosiers.com Park Ridge, Illinois - Indiana senior D.J. White was named Big Ten Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week after leading the Hoosiers to victories over Tennessee State and Kentucky.
There is nothing that I would love to do more than cover Hoosier football for the next three weeks. Unfortunately, I am still a student, and the whole five finals in three days thing is really cramping my style. I'm sure I can speak for Lee and Matt when I say once this whole finals fiasco is over, we'll pick up the intensity in our coverage and bring you anything and everything IU football.
