Bill Lynch has landed one of his biggest prizes.

Darius Willis, a senior running back from Franklin Central (H.S.) in Indianapolis, gave an oral commitment to the Hoosiers today by way of a press conference in Indianapolis. He will sign with the Hoosiers in February.

According to Peegs.com, Willis was considering the following schools in making his decision: Kentucky, Boston College, Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Tennessee.

In his senior season at Franklin Central, Willis ran for 1,728 yards and 28 touchdowns, and guided his team to a 9-3 record. One of the 20 finalists for Indiana's Mr. Football, Willis' career numbers include 4,781 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns.

Have any of you heard of Willis, or seen him play? What do you guys think of them and does this mean IU is moving in the right direction? Does this mean Lynch is the right guy for IU, after making a signing such as this, and do you think Willis signed because there was no coaching speculation going on in Bloomington?

As always, we love to hear your thoughts (by the way, wish us luck on finals this week - when they're over, we will be on top of the blog much more, thanks).
