Driving home from Bloomington I started thinking about IU football and had the following thoughts:
* By defeating Indiana State, Ball State and Purdue, coupled with the awful year Notre Dame had, Indiana has to be crowned the college state champion this year, right? There's no other team in Indiana that can really make a valid argument. When is the last time that could have been said about Indiana football? 1967?
* Is Antwan Randel El the most popular Hoosier playing in the NFL? I'm a Bears fan so for me it's Adewale Ogunleye, (Who should be a lock for the Pro Bowl.) Maybe there's some love for Cam Cameron (probably not though.) I'm hoping that i'll have the chance to talk to some of the IU football alumns at the Insight Bowl and get there take on this years team. Maybe Trent Green will show up, if anything to get away from the fiasco in Miami.
* Finally - I'm pretty embarassed to admit this...but my favorite pump up song of all time is 'In the Air Tonight' by Phil Collins. I don't know why, but if I was forced to have a steel cage match with Greg Middleton thats the song I would want to hear before I went out there. (I have issues, I know.) What does this have to do with IU football? It got me thinking about what song could be used as the theme song for this years Hoosiers. I really couldn't think of one. Does anyone have any idea's on this? (It can't be 'Don't Stop Believing' by Journey, that is my only rule.) What song do you think will be played in the locker room before they take the field on New Years Eve?
As always, any and all comments are welcome...
