IU Diving Coach announces retirement from coaching

Indiana University Diving Coach Jeff Huber announced his retirement Friday afternoon. After 35 years of coaching at the top-tier levels in national and international diving, Huber has agreed to continue through August 2013 at the request of Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Fred Glass.

Ferrell, Zeller and Oladipo named to midseason watch lists

On Thursday, three members of the IU men's basketball team were named to midseason watch lists as semi-finalists for both the Oscar Robertson Trophy and the Wayman Tisdale Award. Sophomore forward Cody Zeller and junior guard Victor Oladipo were among 10 other players from around the country named to the 2013 Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List by the U.S.

Snodgrass earns two Big Ten awards

After dominating her events at a dual meet against the Purdue Boilermakers in West Lafayette this past weekend, freshman Brooklyn Snodgrass has earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Currently, the Hoosier swimmer has two Big Ten Swimmer of the Week awards and she has clenched the Big Ten Freshman of the Week title three times. In Indiana's 179-121 win over Purdue last Saturday, Snodgrass touched the wall in both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events with NCAA provisional qualifying times, 53.73 and 1:55.48 respectively.

IU divers make USA Diving Olympic Performance Squad

An Indiana University diver was recently named to USA Diving's 26-member Olympic Performance Squad. Four-time USA Diving national champion in synchronized platform and senior Amy Cozad earned her spot on the squad after an annual review where her overall competition performance and dedication to daily workouts was evaluated. Those who make the Olympic Performance Squad include divers who possess the skill and determination it takes to compete on the Olympic Team in the Olympic Games. In 2012, Cozad was the Olympic alternate on the platform after her third-place finish at the Olympic Trials.

Wilkinson named Volleyball Director of Operations

IU volleyball has a new director of operations. Shane Wilkinson will leave the University of South Carolina, where he has worked the past two seasons, to join the IU family, and be closer to his family. "Coming to Indiana will allow (Wilkinson) to be back closer to his family and his new niece that was born on New Year's Day," IU Coach Sherry Dunbar said. Wilkinson was also the director of operations at South Carolina for the volleyball team.

Oladipo named Big Ten Player of Week

After stat sheet-stuffing performance in a pair of IU wins, junior guard Victor Oladipo has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week. The honor is the second one in Oladipo's career and the second time a Hoosier has earned it this season after sophomore forward Cody Zeller earned it two weeks ago. "Victor is a great example," IU Coach Tom Crean said after the Michigan State win.

Hoosiers defeat Boilermakers in dual meet

Despite the mounting pressure of competing against the biggest state rival and having it aired on the Big Ten Network, the No.22 Indiana University women's swimming and diving team came out victorious against the Purdue women at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind on Saturday. Boasting victories in 12 of 16 events, the Hoosiers finished the meet 58 points over the Boilermakers with a final score of 179-121. From opening the meet with a body-length win in the 200 freestyle relay to senior diver Amy Cozad snatching first place on the platform, the IU women exhibited strong performances. "The girls were loose and having a good time," IU Coach Ray Looze said.
