If the Hoosiers are going to make any kind of run in the Big Ten today's game against Illinois seems like a must win.

A nod to our friends at Inside the Hall (you can reach their site from our blogroll) for spotting this first: According to the Herald-Times report from last night's Pike-Bloomington North game, Marquis Teague was suspended for "racking up too many technicals." I'll point you as well to ITH Alex's take from the Pike-Bloomington South game, when Teague was given his marching orders after picking up his fifth foul, a technical. Now there's little doubt Marquis Teague is a special, special talent.

Tom Crean met with the media this afternoon and talked about the bevy of problems the Hoosiers will encounter tomorrow when they take on Tom Izzo's Spartans. At the top of the list of things that concern Crean is Michigan State's transition offense, one Crean says will being moving 110 miles per hour and is one of the best in the country. "There's not a fast break that's like Michigan State's right now," Crean said.

As Dollinger points out in his STORY today, the Hoosiers schedule gets a lot tougher after tonights game against Iowa (12-10 2-7). Osterman explains in his COLUMN exactly why he thinks this game is so important - not just for this year. So, the question I have for the basketbloggers and basketbloggets is this: On a scale of 1-10, how important is tonights game? What will be the bigger deal, if IU wins or loses? If the Hoosiers pull off the victory, can it jump start the team into taking down a few of the upper level conference teams? If IU loses, will they be so discouraged they don't win another game this season? Is this a moment of truth?
Charlie Creme from ESPN.com updated his latest tournament seedings. If you can remember back a few weeks ago, Creme had the Hoosiers listed as an #8 seed in the same bracket with #1 seed North Carolina.
