Hey everyone!

DeAntae and I just got back from the team's first scrimmage today and wanted to let you know some of the highlights. Before we begin, the following were this afternoon's rosters (between projected starters and substitutes):

Team #1 (in batting order)

Crawford, Hervey, Phegley, Dickerson, Schutz, Rogers, Sabourin, Wilson, Dunning

Pitchers: Bashore (4 innings), Glover (2), Gorham (1)

Team #2 (in batting order)

Lambert, Knipp, Earley, Gonzalez, Lyon, Mack, Swift, Webber, Wilson

Pitchers: Hoff (4), Leiendecker (3)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The scrimmage today could be considered a pitchers duel. Bashore had five strikeouts, no earned runs and gave up zero hits while walking only one. On the other side, Hoff had six strikeouts, no earned runs and gave up only four singles.

Other notable moments:

Crawford led off the game with an hit into left field.

Webber made a talented play in the field after he dove to grab a line drive hit and threw out a running Phegley at first.

Both Dickerson and Schutz got hits in the second inning.

In the fourth inning, Phegley threw out a stealing Knipp at second base.

Thoughts? What non-starters do you feel will have a significant impact on the success of this year's team?
