Hoosier swimmer named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year

An Indiana swimmer has earned the 2013 Big Ten Swimmer of the Year award according to an announcement made by the Big Ten Conference Tuesday. Junior Lindsay Vrooman finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle at the NCAA championships last week.

Lindsay Vrooman named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year

IU junior Lindsay Vrooman has been named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday. Vrooman was named Swimmer of the Big Ten Championships in February after she won conference titles in the 500 and 1,650 freestyle and the 800 free relay.

IU's likely new ranking come Wednesday

The No. 12 IU water polo team went a perfect 2-0 during the weekend to bring its overall and conference records to 16-11 and 3-1, respectively. Although a perfect record rarely drops a team in the rankings, there is a possibility this could happen to IU in Wednesday's new polls.

Session II proves difficult for Hoosiers

After a successful Session I, with three out of the five wrestlers advancing to the round of 16, Session II was less forgiving for Indiana. Sophomore Taylor Walsh faced Boise State's Georgi Ivanov in the round of 16, suffering a 6-9 loss.

Hoosiers start with a bang

Five Hoosiers were in action on Thursday in the NCAA Championships. Indiana wasted no time and got right down to business in Session I. Junior Ryan LeBlanc was the first Hoosier to take the mat, facing Central Michigan's Mike Ottinger.

D.J. White signs multi-year deal with Celtics

After returning stateside from China last month, it now appears D.J. White is planning to stay a while. The former IU forward signed a multi-year contract Wednesday with the Boston Celtics after playing four games for them on a 10-day deal.

Two additional Hoosiers will join three

In addition to the three Hoosiers that earned automatic NCAA spots, sophomores Taylor Walsh and Luke Sheridan will join their teammates with wildcard spots. Official NCAA brackets are available and the five Hoosiers will be ready to rumble in Des Moines, Iowa March 21-23.
