Sophomore attacker Colleen McNaught of the IU water polo team has been named the CWPA Western Division Player of the Week.
McNaught helped the Hoosiers go 3-3 over the weekend, highlighted by an 8-6 victory over No. 8 Hawaii.
While she started out the six-game weekend slowly with only one goal through the first three matches, McNaught came on strong in the final three games to score eight goals to bring her weekend total to nine scores. She recorded a hat trick against then-No. 7 San Diego State and No. 13 Cal State Northridge.
McNaught's 20 goals on the season ranks fifth on the team behind senior attacker Jakie Koehli (46), junior attacker Shae Fournier (42), sophomore Rebecca Gerrity (28) and sophomore Shelby Taylor (24).
The award is McNaught's first of her career, but she was named CWPA Western Division Rookie of the Week twice last season.
