Indiana men's basketball released its 2026-27 nonconference schedule Tuesday. The Hoosiers will play 12 nonconference games, including five against power conference opponents.
Indiana will host just two of its power conference games outside the Big Ten, with two in Indianapolis and a Nov. 17 matchup with the University of Arkansas at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Cream and Crimson will take on the University of Kentucky on Nov. 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
After missing the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive season, the Hoosiers will start head coach Darian DeVries' second season at the helm Nov. 2 against Eastern Illinois University inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
The Cream and Crimson went 18-14 last season, including a defeat to Kentucky, the only 2025-26 nonconference opponent on the 2026-27 schedule. This year, they've flipped nearly the entire roster.
With 11 departing players, the new-look Hoosiers are comprised of seven incoming transfers, four freshmen and two returners — 5th-year senior forward Sam Alexis and sophomore forward Trent Sisley.
The Hoosiers' backcourt will be led by former Atlantic Coast Conference scoring leader senior guard Markus Burton, while junior center Samet Yigitoglu, a 7-foot-2 Southern Methodist University transfer, will anchor the frontcourt.
In its second straight year with a roster comprised mostly of transfers, Indiana aims to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023.
