Caleb Hearon will come to IU for “A Conversation with Caleb Hearon” on April 14 at the IU Auditorium, according to a press release from the IU Union Board. The event will be presented in partnership with the IU Arts and Humanities Council.

Hearon is a comedian, actor and writer known for his podcast “So True with Caleb Hearon,” a podcast where Hearon and guests discuss topics ranging from pop culture to dating. As a comedian, Hearon is nationally recognized, being named as one of Rolling Stone's Most Influential Creators in 2025 and nominated for a 2026 Critics Choice Award for his comedy special “Caleb Hearon: Model Comedian.”

While Hearon is a renowned comedian, his upcoming show at IU will not be a comedy show, but instead a Q&A style lecture moderated by Lucy Gray, the director of lectures for the Union Board. Though specific topics haven’t been decided yet, Gray said the conversation will cover areas related to Hearon’s identity, his career in comedy, past and upcoming projects and his experience growing up in the Midwest.

The event is part of the promotion for IU’s annual Granfalloon festival, a celebration inspired by the life and work of author and Indiana native Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Granfalloon is hosted in collaboration with the Indiana University Writers’ Conference and the Bloomington Handmade Market. While an official schedule has not been announced for the 2026 festival, events typically take place in multiple locations around Bloomington.

Tickets for the event are free for IU students, but must be reserved in advance and are limited to one ticket per person. IU staff and faculty can purchase tickets to the show for $15, and they will cost $25 for the general public. There is no pre-sale for this event, and tickets will go live for everyone Friday at 10 a.m.
