The Bloomington Police Department arrested a woman Wednesday after she allegedly called the BPD Records Division and threatened to “kill people,” saying she “planned to shoot an explosive device into the Monroe County Central Emergency Dispatch Center,” according to an email from BPD Captain Ryan Pedigo.

The Bloomington woman called at 1:05 p.m. on her 49th birthday and hung up without identifying herself. A few moments later, she called the Records Division again and demanded the dispatch center be evacuated.

BPD dispatched officers immediately, checked the area and began an investigation. Using the phone number the woman called from, she was identified and located at her residence.

Investigators interviewed the woman, and she was then transported to the Monroe County Jail and charged with intimidation, a level six felony.
