Indiana Gov. Mike Braun will speak at the “This is the Turning Point” event Tuesday at IU Auditorium, according to a release from the governor’s office.

The event, headlined by conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson, is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Carlson is speaking in place of TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk, a right-wing activist who was shot and killed Sept. 10 during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University. TPUSA’s IU chapter held a vigil for Kirk on Sept. 14 at the Indiana Memorial Union. Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith, U.S. Sen. Todd Young and Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita were among the speakers at the event.

TPUSA is an organization with the mission to identify, educate, train and organize students to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets and limited government, per its website. Since Kirk’s assassination, prominent conservative political and social figures have stepped up to speak in his place during the campus tour.

Braun, who assumed office last January, joins five other governors as TPUSA speakers, according to the organization’s website.

“We don’t always have to agree with each other on all of the issues,” Braun said in a Sept. 17 statement regarding Kirk’s assassination. “But disagreement should never lead to the type of horrific tragedy we witnessed last week.”

All available tickets for the event have already been claimed. Standby lines for IU students and the public begin at 4:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and ticketholders must be seated by 6:15 p.m.
