Indiana women’s basketball assistant coach Amber Smith departed the program Monday, according to The Daily Hoosier.

Smith spent one season in Bloomington, coming from the University of Kentucky where she spent five seasons as an assistant coach and two seasons as the director of player development.

After former assistant coach Glenn Box became Miami University’s head coach, Smith took over for Box at Indiana, mainly working with Hoosier guards like Sara Scalia and Chloe Moore-McNeil — the two players on the court the most during the 2023-24 season.

Indiana head coach Teri Moren’s coaching staff still includes associate head coach Rhet Wierzba, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Linda Sayavongchanh, and the team and recruitment coordinator/assistant coach Ali Patberg.

The Hoosiers recently landed a pair of transfers in Karoline Striplin and Shay Ciezki last week as they continue to prepare for the 2024-25 season.
