While Indiana women’s basketball’s regular season is set to begin Thursday, the Hoosiers are also looking to bolster a strong future through recruiting. During National Signing Day on Wednesday, head coach Teri Moren announced the team’s first two signings — forwards Faith Wiseman and Sydney Fenn.

“We welcome Faith and Sydney who have officially joined our Hoosier family today,” Moren said. “We are excited about their futures here in Bloomington.”

Wiseman — a Trafalgar, Indiana native — excelled in her junior season in 2022-23, averaging 16.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Ultimately, after leading her Indian Creek High School team to a 27-2 overall record, she was named to the Indiana Coaches of Girl's Sports Association’s 1st Team All-State.

Hailing from Buffalo, New York, the 6-foot-3 Fenn was similarly impressive. Playing for AZ Compass Prep, she put up 12 points per game and tacked on nine rebounds per game. Fenn elected to sign with Indiana, favoring the Hoosiers over offers from other Power Five schools.

Indiana will hope that the talented recruits can fill the shoes of graduate student forward Mackenzie Holmes, who is playing her final season in the Cream and Crimson. Though it may be a tough task to fill the shoes of an AP Preseason All-American, the pair of signings has Indiana’s future looking bright.
