Severe thunderstorms possible in Bloomington Monday evening

Bloomington will likely receive severe thunderstorms Monday night, according to the National Weather Service

The National Weather Service predicts any severe weather will likely arrive around 10 p.m. The storms could include strong winds, hail and a possible tornado.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms will likely continue through the night and end around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

Be on the lookout for severe thunderstorms warnings and tornado warnings. According to the National Weather Service, the best way to protect yourself during a severe thunderstorm warning is to stay inside a sturdy building or shelter. Stay away from windows and electrical equipment if possible.

If caught in a storm while outside, take shelter in a sturdy building nearby or a car. The National Weather Service recommends staying away from bodies of water.
