The Bloomington Police Department charged Gilberto Jose Daniel Sales Domingo, of Bloomington, on Sept. 14 for two felonies related to the possession and distribution of child sex abuse material.
The probable cause affidavit filed Sept. 15 alleged Sales Domingo uploaded at least three files containing CSAM on Instagram. One file, a video, was uploaded June 15, 2026. The other files were photos, according to the affidavit, with no upload date specified.
Sales Domingo is charged with one count of child exploitation — a level four felony — and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material — a level five felony — and faces up to 18 years in prison.
According to the affidavit, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from Instagram on June 18, 2026, which included a T-Mobile subscribed Internet Protocol address in the Indianapolis area, which includes Bloomington.
The center then referred the tip to BPD, which obtained warrants for the account and its associated IP addresses and email. The warrants revealed Sales Domingo’s address.
BPD executed a search warrant Sept. 14 for all electronic devices at Sales Domingo’s residence and arrested him. When interviewed by police, Sales Domingo confirmed his phone number and the detective called and located the cell phone inside the residence.
The search revealed “additional CSAM” on the Instagram account connected to Sales Domingo, though the affidavit did not say how much was found.
Sales Domingo was booked into the Monroe County Jail on Sept. 14 and his first appearance in court was Sept. 16.
