Two Bloomington men were injured in an early Friday morning shooting, at the 3400 block of West Festive Drive, according to a Friday news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office is now investigating the shooting, and no suspect has been identified.
The two victims, ages 20 and 21, are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
The sheriff’s office responded at 4:08 a.m. to a report of a person who had been shot and was being transported to a local hospital by a personal vehicle, the release stated.
Investigators later determined that the two men had been sitting inside a vehicle when shots were fired. According to the release, investigators believe this is a targeted incident and that there is no ongoing safety concern in the area.
