New Bloomington Arts Passport allows young artists to explore local performances

Young Professionals Bloomington and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce have announced a new arts series called the Bloomington Arts Passport. This series is an eight-ticket subscription geared for those aged 21-40 to explore different arts performances in Bloomington. 

“Each pass includes a ticket from individual arts organizations representing dance, film, music and live theater,” a press release said. “All but one has multiple showing offerings that can accommodate even the busiest of (Young Professionals Bloomington) schedules.”

Performances include:

Cardinal Stage: “The Roommate” from Jan. 30 to Feb. 16

Jewish Theater of Bloomington: “The Wanders” from May 7-17

Buskirk-Chumley Theater: Choose between The Rebirth Brass Band on Jan. 24, Mat Kearney on Feb. 1 or Sheroes CD Release Party on March 7

IU Theatre + Dance: “At First Sight” from Feb. 21-29

WonderLab Science Museum: Choose between Science of Art “Textiles” on Feb. 22, Science of Art “Microscopy” on April 18 or After Dark “Spy Academy” on May 2

Bloomington Playwrights Project: “The Absentee” from March 27 to April 11

IU Auditorium: choice between Minnesota Orchestra on Jan. 22, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Co. on Feb. 22 or Ladysmith Black Mambazo on March 10

Ryder Film Series: Oscar Shorts Film Festival on Feb. 2

The passport is on sale until Jan. 15 for $139 for all eight performances. They can be purchased at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater box office or its website.
