U.S. Postal services routes in Indiana were suspended Wednesday and will remain suspended on Thursday as a result of the cold weather.

Post offices will remain open for inside services. The Postal Service will not deliver to locations with ZIP Codes that begin with the numbers 460-469, 472-475, 478 and 479. This covers most of northern and central Indiana.

A press release from the postal service said the establishment is looking out for employees.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this weather related service disruption has caused,” said Todd Hawkins, district manager of the Greater Indiana District. “The safety and well-being of our employees is of paramount concern to the Postal Service.”

Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to ask questions.
