IU ranked sixth best university in the state in recent study

WalletHub, a personal finance website, released its 2019’s Best Colleges and University rankings  Oct. 22 in which IU ranked sixth on the top 10 list of universities in Indiana.

Overall, IU was ranked 144 in the United States. 

WalletHub compared roughly 1,000 college and universities in the U.S. and based their comparisons on 30 measures that were grouped into seven categories. These categories included student selectivity, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes and career outcomes.

In addition, there is a list of best colleges and universities overall. The site also made separate lists, one for best colleges and one for best universities. The list for Indiana is:

1. University of Notre Dame

2. Purdue University

3. DePauw University

4. Wabash College

5. University of Evansville

6. Indiana University-Bloomington

7. Goshen College

8. Ball State University

9. Butler University

10. St. Mary's College
