Indiana field hockey will enter the 2026 season with several players already receiving recognition from around the country.
Senior midfielder Inés Garcia Prado, junior forward Mijntje Hagen and sophomore forward Molly Stutte were named to the Big Ten’s preseason Players to Watch list Wednesday, while Garcia Prado, Hagen and freshman position Gabriela Garayo Aranceta were later named to the National Field Hockey Association preseason watchlist on Thursday.
Garcia Prado led Indiana in scoring in both the 2024 and 2025 season. She earned NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American and All-Big Ten First Team honors last season after recording seven goals and nine assists.
Hagen makes her first appearance on the NFHCA watchlist after a sophomore season in which she scored six goals and recorded 10 assists. She earned All-Big Ten Second Team and NFHCA All-Region honors in 2025.
Garayo Aranceta will begin her collegiate career on the NFHCA watchlist. The freshman midfielder brings international experience from the Spanish U18 National Team, including first- and second place finishes at the Six Nations Tournament.
Stutte, who was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last season after scoring seven goals, rounds out Indiana’s Big Ten Players to Watch selections.
“I think that's always nice to get that individual recognition,” Indiana head coach Kayla Bashore said Thursday . “It's to show that some players may have some impact on the team and can really be game changers.”
The Hoosiers will open the regular season against No. 10 Miami (Ohio) University at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trager Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The RedHawks defeated Indiana 1-0 in an exhibition matchup Aug. 14 in Bloomington.
