Professor Eleanor Leach remembered for love of classics

Professor Eleanor Leach is remembered by her students and colleagues as a quirky, grandmotherly Rome fanatic with a soft spot for Horace and Cicero. She was found dead in her home at age 80 on Feb. 19. Read more here. 


IU alumna, teacher at Parkland school recounts her experience

IU wins back-to-back Big Ten titles

It was the first time IU won back-to-back championships in 32 years. For the 36th time in school history, IU swimming and diving brought the Big Ten Championship back to Bloomington. Read more here.


Bloomington Black Lives Matter hosting free documentary screening

A local Black Lives Matter organization is holding a free screening of the documentary film “Do Not Resist” at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. The film, released in 2016, is an investigation into the rapid militarization of American police forces, and the effects of this on marginalized and minority communities. Yulin Yu

In response to the purchase of an armored vehicle for the Bloomington Police Department, a local Black Lives Matter organization will screen “Do Not Resist” tonight.  Read more here.
