FROM IDS REPORTS
The National Association of Professional Women is opening a chapter in Bloomington.
Former Bloomigton Deputy Mayor Maria Katrien Heslin will be the chapter’s first president.
“I am so excited to be part of the NAPW family because I attended the organization’s national conference earlier this spring in New York and was overwhelmed by the energy and enthusiasm of its leaders and members,” Heslin said in a press release.
The group’s first meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24, at a location to be announced at a later date.
Interested women must RSVP for the meeting by Sept. 20. An official launch meeting will take place later this fall.
Helsin said women from any profession are invited to join.
“The Bloomington area has an abundance of talented and successful women, so I know we can build a strong local chapter to provide opportunities for us all to connect and help one another further our professional goals,” Heslin said.
Heslin can be contacted at 812-679-9670 or maria@independentgeorge.us.
